Shortest account ever
I signed up for a delicious account around 6pm and disabled it two hours later. I had a weird problem this afternoon when firefox didn't want to import my old bookmarks file which I backup regularly or didn't remember them when the import finally worked - if you must know, I installed xubuntu on my laptop, FC9 really was becoming a painfull experience; don't worry, my desktops are still FC powered! But anyway, my colleagues were ranting about the fact I didn't had a delicous account so I decided to give a try, but not for long. The main reasons I disabled my account are simple:
- No OpenID support. Sounds radical I know, but I made a statement before. And I'm not alone.
- Once imported my firefox bookmarks into delicious, I got so confused by all the default tags which were generated and I didn't feel like cleaning up that mess - I mean more than 1900 bookmarks, you with me?
- No tree structure of tags (call it hierarchical, taxonomy, vocab, I don't care). This is probably the worst problem (well, at least for me). I had this idea to create a top tag called Drupal and underneath several other terms like, themes, modules, etc. This isn't possible at all, and the 'cloud' solution simply doesn't cut it for me.
I must admit, the firefox add-on really looks nice and works great, but alas, maybe another time.
