Let’s mess with @sventel demo during @drupalcampbe and see if we can break it

Spillebeen Mathieu on Fri, 23/11/2018 - 14:51

hey fediverse, render this!

Marc van Gend on Fri, 23/11/2018 - 15:30

I'm really liking the indieweb movement, but boy, that's a lot of moving parts to glue it all together...

Ruben Teijeiro on Fri, 23/11/2018 - 15:30

Featured in @swentel demo during his presentation at @drupalcampbe. IndieWeb is the best that happened to the web since RSS

I have the feeling that it's more likely to be used by hubs that people use, rather than them implementing it on their own sites individually.

However, multiple distributed social hubs FTW.

swentel on Fri, 23/11/2018 - 17:06

Yes, that's my feeling too. https://micro.blog/ is an example of such a hub which implements all of this - sadly source is not open (yet).

Marc van Gend on Fri, 23/11/2018 - 17:40

See - that's the irony of all this. In for indieweb to be easy for everyone to use, it just needs a proprietary wrapper :-)

Eddie Hinkle on Fri, 23/11/2018 - 18:35

I think when you fast-forward several years we'll be in a much better place where you have some paid and some free ways to get on the IndieWeb. The last 12-24 months have been HUGE for the capabilities growth and now we need to make it more approachable. (eddiehinkle.com/2018/11/23/14/…)

Tatár Balázs János on Fri, 23/11/2018 - 19:45

i'm so said was not able to attend, but i hope tonight we'll meet at Ray ;)

Open pubsub that gets traction will be massive & IndieWeb is really attractive that way.

It doesn't need proprietary, even now. Tracking push/pull to silos (corp social media) probably does though.

Future maybe more a choice: paid services, or your friendly idealistic collective.

I was still missing https://fed.brid.gy/ from my Known site. Going to add this integration to my plans. Thanks for the tip!
