Currently writing and testing a new Drupal project/theme which adds a reader on your site and install as a PWA on your tablet or phone. It integrates with #activitypub and #indieweb so no need anymore for an external client. Just host it all yourself!

Is this in lieu of Indigenous? Or is it an alternative for those using Drupal? I was going to use that, but ended up with Wordpress instead since it's what people around me are more comfortable with.

It's an alternative, but I will update Indigenous less too in the future, only critical maintenance releases.

Added support for the Aggregator module in Drupal core as well. Anyone feeling adventurous can always start playing with the dev version of the project https://www.drupal.org/project/reader // cc @Dries
